Life after College

Wow…so this is definitely harder than what we anticipated with keeping a blog…

So basically almost a year has passed…Star graduated back in April from BYU with her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Wellness. She got a job here in Provo with a health supplements company called Nutraceutical and we are very grateful for that. Her BYU rugby team made it to the Final Four of Nationals but lost to the eventual National Champions, Penn State. Trent plans to graduate April 2013 with a double major in Exercise Science and Spanish. He is actually taking the MCAT this FRIDAY! Wish him luck!

This summer has not really been a summer…Trent has been taking spring and now summer classes full time and Star started her job the Monday after graduating back in April. But life is good! We are lucky to be living in a HOUSE for FREE! We are “house sitting” for a nice couple in Star’s parents’ ward. Trent just got called to first counselor in the young men and Star is a CTR 6 teacher.

With rugby being over, Star recently picked up triathlons and has competed in two races so far. She won first place in her age group in the first one and third place in the second one. The second race was the Provo Triathlon and she had to swim a half of a mile in Utah Lake… not her favorite.

Trent has been diligently studying for classes and the MCAT all year long. Star has limited his activities to basically yard work, working out, and intramurals where he has still managed to make it to the ER again. Trent collided with another player’s head in the flag football playoffs and was rushed to the ER where he was able to receive 9 stiches from a PA student to hold his eyebrow out of his eye socket…. Not the prettiest scar, but luckily for Trent, he’s already married. J A couple months later, the scar is looking A LOT better than he did when he had the stiches in. Star’s younger sister Lacy said Trent looked, “like a pirate” and her youngest sister, Skylee, said that Trent looked, “like Quasimodo from the Hunchback of Notre Dame.” Star thinks that Trent is a sexy pirate and is happy to have him for a husband…even with his many trips to the ER.

Trent had the opportunity to visit Jackson Hole with Alex and Luke Forand to drop off Luke at his summer job as a ranch hand. It was good seeing Alex and Luke and catching up. (Oh and congrats to Alex and Kristen who are engaged!)

Trent and Star celebrated one year of marriage by going to Outback Steakhouse way back in December and we are now passed our 1 ½ year mark which happened on June 18, 2012! Trent will begin applying to medical school graduate programs in August and HOPEFULLY he gets accepted to one of the 20 or so schools that he is applying to! *fingers crossed* Once he gets accepted to a school we will have a better idea of what our future holds in store for us and where exactly we will be living for the next four to six years of our lives together.

Well, ‘til we meet again!
